Histori

Riwayat komposisi

Scores for Marius Petipa Les Saisons ( The Seasons ) were originally intended to be composed by Italian composer and conductor Riccardo Drigo, who is a close associate and friend of Glazunov. Since 1886, Drigo has held the position of music director and chef d'orchestre to the Imperial Theater Ballet of St. Petersburg, while also serving as a conductor for the Italian opera show at the Opera Imperial treasury. Petipa Les Millions d'Arlequin (also known as Harlequinade ) is also in the early stages at the same time as Les Saisons , and was originally intended to have the score provided by Glazunov. Because Drigo and Glazunov have an affinity for each ballet, the two composers agree that Glazunov will write Les Saisons and the Drigo will write Les Millions d'Arlequin .

Petipa was presented for the first time at the Imperial Theater at the Hermitage on February 23. [O.S. 10 February] Ã, 1900. Les Saisons aired three days later. For both performances the entire Imperial palace was present.

In 1907, Nikolai Legat staged the resurrection of the Les Saisons at the Imperial Mariinsky Theater. This production was done on occasion by Imperial Ballet after the Russian Revolution, which was performed for the last time in 1927.

Les Saisons lives in an abriged edition at the treasury of the tour company Anna Pavlova.
