The NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship is an annual tournament to determine the NCAA Division III national champions.
Since 1996, the men's basketball championship of the NCAA Division III has been held at Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia. The event is hosted by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and the City of Salem. Since 2017, this tournament is a 64-team elimination tournament, with teams advancing from four regionals to the semi-finals and finals in Salem.
For 2013, as part of the NCAA Division I 75th tournament, championship games in both the Second Division and the third Division NCAA tournaments are played at Philips Arena in Atlanta. Since 2014, the last game back to Salem.
Nebraska Wesleyan is a powerful national champion.

Qualification
Since 2017, a total of 64 bids are available for the tournament:
- 43 automatic bids, awarded to champions of all Third Division conferences.
- 21 great offers.
The American Collegiate Athletic Association, formed in 2017 and starting to play in 2017-18, will not qualify for automatic bids until 2019-20 (third season of operation). Launched with eight members, seven of whom sponsored men's basketball.
