Michael Young (born September 5, 1994) is an American basketball player for Leones de Ponce from Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). A 6'9 forward, Young plays college basketball for the Pittsburgh Panthers from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Initial years
Young goes to St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, New Jersey and graduated in 2013 where he led Saint Benedict to Invitational National High School and became runner-up, as well as the New Jersey Prep High School championship. During his senior year he led his team to No. 1. 2 from USA Today and MaxPreps. He helped guide St Benedicts to their NHSI National Championships finished as runners-up when they lost to Montverde Academy in a 65-67 championship game.
During his senior campaign he was invited to Jordan Brand Classic at Barclays Center where he posted 19 points. Young also attended the prestigious basketball camp including the Reebok Breakout Challenge, the Five Star camp, Adidas Uprising, and the Hoop Group Elite. Young completed his high school career with 1,445 points and was ranked 56th in the nation's 14th national recruitment and the 14th best power in the country by ESPN.

College career
First year
Young started all 36 games for the Panthers. He was named for the All-ACC Academic Team which he called a great achievement and was very proud of. He averaged 6 points, more than four rebounds per game and scored in double digits in five games during the season. He put up nine points and three rebounds during his first NCAA Tournament game against Colorado Buffaloes in the NCAA Men's 2014 Division Basketball Tournament during the opening round and scored four points as they lost to first-seeded Florida Gators in the third round..
Year sophomore
During his second year, Young saw an enormous improvement in scoring with the All-ACC gains mentioned by the media coach, he averaged 13.4 points and 7.3 rebounds respectively. He leads the team in a score of 11 games and leads in a 17-time rebound. He scored 27 high season points vs Chaminade Silverswords.
First year
Young during his junior year scored 20 points or more 11 times and averaged 15.7 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game. And received the Third All-ACC team awards and other All-ACC awards. He ranks 13th in ACC in scoring, 12th in rebounds and 5th in percentage of field goals. He leads the team with scores and FG percentages. He also has a four-double high double career.
Senior year
In the first four games of his senior year Young scored an average of 23 points per game and 8 rebounds per game that led Pitt to an 8-2 record. He scored a career high 30 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in a 78-76 win over Marquette. And almost equaled 20 days later when he scored 29 points and 9 rebounds on his way to a 81-73 victory over Penn State at the Never Forget Tribute Classic.

Professional career
Washington Wizards/Delaware 87ers/Northern Arizona Suns (2017-2018)
After being stripped in the NBA's 2017 draft, Young signed a two-way contract by the Washington Wizards of the NBA. Under the terms of the deal, he is projected to divide the playing time between the Wizards and the games in League G under the most pointed designated place in the Washington area, as they do not have a squad there at the time. He has previously been assigned to the Delaware 87ers for four previous matches in the season before being assigned to the Northern Arizona Suns on 13 November 2017. Young remains under contract with the Wizards until January 3, 2018, when they release his contract without playing a game for the team. On January 6, 2018, Northern Arizona Suns from the NBA G League announced that they had earned Young as a returning player.
Leones de Ponce (2018-present)
On April 11, 2018, Leones de Ponce of Baloncesto Superior Nacional announced their signing with Young.
