Histori
Madison High School was founded in 1957 and named after James Madison, the fourth US President and coauthor of the Constitution. Schools serve environmental students and many transfer students in grades 9-12.
Two movies have been filmed at school: Paranoid Park (2007) and Twilight (2008).
On June 29, 2004, the school was damaged by fire, probably caused by fireworks.
Madison is scheduled to be modernized as part of a $ 790 million bond measured pass in 2017.

Curriculum
James Madison High School offers a variety of core college preparatory classes as well as unique electives in math, show & amp; visual arts, science, social sciences, and world languages. Students can challenge themselves by enrolling in the Advanced Placement and multiple credit programs. The latter is taught by the Madison faculty who work in partnership with Portland Community College.
Athletics
Madison participated in the Portland Interscholastic League at level 6A. Team sports include cross country, soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, swimming, dance team, wrestling and track and field. Madison is the best known athletic for baseball program, which holds the state title of every high school baseball program in the state of Oregon.
