Janet Cobbs (born February 22, 1967) is an American/Canadian volleyball coach. During his playing career, he was an All-American at North Dakota State University and won a bronze medal with the United States national team at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Cobbs attended the Concordia Academy High School, where he played volleyball, basketball, and softball balls. He made the all-team squad twice in volleyball and basketball. In 1984, he led the volleyball team to the Class A national championship. In 1985, he was named the Best Metro Basketball Player of the Year.
College
Cobbs played for North Dakota State University's volleyball team from 1985 to 1988. He was the second All-American team in 1986 and the All-American first team in 1987. In 1988, Cobbs led Bison to a 43-3 record and the NCAA Appearance Elite Eight. He was named for the first team of All-American again and also crowned as Second Division Player of the Year. He won the Honda-Broderick Trophy in 1988-89 as the Second Division Women's Athlete of the Year. Cobbs set nine NDSU school records, including most of the career murders (2,091) and most of the single killing season (739). He was inducted into North Dakota State University Hall of Fame in 2003.
International
Cobbs was a member of the US national team from 1989 to 1994. He won a bronze medal with the US at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He was named MVP of the Hong Kong Cup 1992.
Professional
Cobbs played professionally for the Minnesota Monarchs (USA) in 1988-89, Ceramica Magica (Italy) in 1993-94, and Vakifbank (Turkey) in 1996-97.
