The Assam Football Association (AFA ) is one of 36 Indian State Football Associations affiliated with the All India Football Federation and its current president is Hemendra Nath Brahma, while the secretary is Ankur Dutta.
Assam Football Association was formed in 1951, but the game of football has been played since before Indian independence. Football games are introduced by and institutions and some individuals. It is affiliated with the All India Football Federation, Assam sports council and the Assam Olympic Association. This association controls men's and women's soccer games in the state of Assam. The game of football is very popular in four districts ie. Dibrugarh, Kokrajhar, Karbi Anglong, and Dima Hasao. The team members of the Association are four years old. The nature of the selection of an office carrier is based on a football district unit affiliated with the Assam Football Association.
The AFA's main league is the Assam State Premier League.
