season Note
The team restored 16 early players from the previous season and predicted by some analysts to compete for second place in Pac-10. They restored the majority of the defense, which ranks second in the country for a total of sacks, the country's eighth in handling losses, and in the top 20 in a hasty defense in the 2006-07 season. The CFN chose Beavers in their top 25 pre-season and claimed they were "heavy sleepers for big things" in the 2007 season. The Beavers finished the season 9-4, good for third place in Pac-10, and won Emerald Bowl 21-14. Their run defenses are second in the country for the fewest meters allowed per game just behind Boston College.
