History
Tory Burch started his fashion label - "TRB by Tory Burch", later known as "Tory Burch" - in February 2004, launching it with a retail store in the Nolita district of Manhattan. Most inventory was sold out on the first day. When Oprah Winfrey backed his sentence on The Oprah Winfrey Show in April 2005, calling Burch "the next big thing in the fashion world", the Burch site received eight million hits the next day.
Since its launch, the company has grown to include more than 200 Tory Burch stores worldwide, including in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo and Seoul, and e-commerce sites in seven languages. The Shanghai flagship company, launched in 2014, is the largest. In September 2011, Burch performed its first runway fashion show, and continues to show every season at New York Fashion Week.
In the fall of 2013, Burch launched his first perfume and collection of beauty capsules with Està © Lauder.
In the summer of 2014, it introduced a series of accessories for Fitbit Flex activity tracking device, making it the first major fashion brand to switch to wearable technology. The fall of 2014 marks the publication of his first book and bestseller, Tory Burch in Color , and the launch of his watch with Fossil.
In March 2015, Burch expanded its home line with a collection of lettuce fittings made in collaboration with Palm Beach artist and potter Dodie Thayer. In July 2015, Burch launched its first boutique in Paris.
Tory Sport
In September 2015, Burch also introduced Tory Sport, separate separated activation paths, on special websites, and in pop-up stores on Elizabeth Street in Manhattan in the room where he has launched its first boutique in 2004.
