Planet Minigolf is a minigolf game featuring 144 unique holes scattered in four locations around the world; Buccaneer, Soho, Polar Station and Ancient Valley hideouts, each with four 9-hole pitches. The ability to create customary minigolf courses is widely praised among the reviewers. Justin Calvert of GameSpot feels that course-making tools are easy to use and declare the game "has the potential to keep you playing for weeks and months as more player-created and downloadable content is added." A reviewer from Game Revolution notes that he prefers looking for difficult courses created by players to sustain challenges. He stated players would "have access to thousands of different holes to shoot in hundreds of custom courses." The multiplayer component also receives generally positive comments. "The multiplayer mode, community features, and course editors give you plenty to do," says IGN's Daemon Hatfield. Tina Amini from Gaming Nexus gave it a warm welcome, and gave it a class C. Amini quoted a powerful "visual story revelation" but noted that a poor camera angle continues to be flawed in downloadable content. He praised the course and visual design and stated that they were "pretty pretty" but called cheesy music choices and "reminiscent of outdated game events."
