Garner is a town in Wake County, North Carolina, USA, and a suburb of Raleigh. City limits are entirely in Wake County, though parts of the unrelated Wake County, as well as the Cleveland community in northern Johnston County have Garner's mailing address. The population is estimated to be 27814 on July 1, 2014. It is part of the Research Triangle area of ​​North Carolina and serves as a bedroom community for the region.

Demographics
At the 2000 census, there were 17,757 people, 6,950 households, and 4,830 families living in the city. Population density was 1,385.1 persons per square mile (534.8/km ²). There are 7252 residential units with an average density of 565.7 per square mile (218.4/km ²). Racial makeup of the city is 67.02% White, 27.13% African American, 0.41% Native Americans, 1.11% Asia, 0.02% Pacific Island, 2.77% of other races, and 1.54 % of two or more races. Hispanic or Latin of any race is 4.75% of the population.
There are 6,950 households where 34.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.5% are married couples living together, 12.7% have non-husbands female households, and 30.5% are not family. 24.2% of all households are individual and 6.5% have a living person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the city, the population is spread by 25.0% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 33.6% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 10.9% years or more. The mean age is 36 years. For every 100 women, there are 93.5 men. For every 100 women age 18 and over, there are 89.2 men.
The average income for households in the city is $ 47,380, and the average income for families is $ 58,302. Men have an average income of $ 37,359 compared to $ 29,805 for women. History
The land near the town of Garner was first inhabited around 1751. In the 1850s, the North Carolina Railroad was built, and before the 1870s, wood-and-water stops were set up in downtown Garner today. The Garner's Station community received a post office in 1878 and was founded in 1883, but the public had a charter revoked in 1891.
In 1905, the charter was restored as the City of Garner. The first mayor is J.B. Richardson, and the first aldermen is H.D. Rand, J.J. Bagwell, H. Bryan, M.C. Penny, and J.S. Buffaloe.
In 1912, the phone came to Garner. The city is beyond US $ 70, which in 1917 became the first paved road built in North Carolina.

Garner currently operates under a council-manager government in which the City Council is the legally elected legislature in the city, and appoints the City Manager to administer the city administration's operations. Some main roads and highways serve Garner:
- Interstate 40 passes on the north and east side of Garner. The city is accessible via South Saunders Street (Exit 298-A), Hammond Road (Exit 299), Jones Sausage (Exit 303), or US 70 (Exit 306-B).
- US. 70 serves as the main east-west highway through Garner. Most businesses and shopping centers are in the US 70
- US. 401 split from the US 70 in the northwest corner of the city and flows west of the city.
