A ballroom or ballhall is a large room in the building, the goal set is to have a big formal party called a ball. Traditionally, most balls are held in private homes; many luxury homes that contain one or more ballrooms. In other large houses, a large room like the main living room, a long gallery or hall can double as a ballroom, but a good ballroom should have the right type of flooring, such as hardwood floors or stone floors (usually marble). Later, the term ballroom has been used to describe nightclubs where dancing audiences, Top Rank Suites in the UK for example is also often referred to as a ballroom. The phrase "having the ball" has grown to include many events where the person (s) are having fun, not just dancing.
The ballroom is generally quite large, and may have a higher ceiling than the other rooms in the same building. The large amount of space for dancing, as well as the very formal tone of the show has created a ballroom dance. The biggest ball is now almost always held in public buildings, and many hotels have ballrooms. They are also designed great for helping the sound of the orchestra get carried away well throughout the room.
A special case is the annual Vienna Opera Opera, where, just for one night, the Vienna State Opera auditorium transforms into a large ballroom. On the eve of the event, a row of chairs was released from the kiosk, and a new floor, parallel to the stage, was built.
Sometimes the ballroom has stages in front of the room where the host or special guest can speak. The stage can also be used for instrumentalists and music players.

This list may only contain ballroom with permanent wooden floor. Floor size should cover only the largest contiguous area without obstacles. Website and material about some places add lots of space, space, and balcony, and floor. However, this list occupies a ballroom based on the size of a single open space with hardwood floors.
