SMA
Moore was introduced to basketball at the age of 10 by his older brother. By the time Moore reached Colony High School in Palmer, Alaska, he was a good athlete. He is on the team of basketball, tracks and volleyball. The basketball team reached the state final four times winning the State Championship twice, and the volleyball team also won two State Championships. Jessica was selected as the Athlete of the Year in Alaska during her junior and senior high school years. Her most memorable experience of high school was her first win of two State Championships in 1998.

Higher Education
Moore narrowed his college choice to four - University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), University of Oregon, University of Connecticut and Ohio State University. He chose the University of Connecticut because of the family atmosphere and most likely won the National Championship. Once he chooses school, he has to decide whether he will play volleyball and basketball or just pick one. He chose basketball to focus. The basketball team has been stacked with post players so Jessica will not get as much time playing as a freshman. He was the first red-pitched medical player of his year to get an additional year of eligibility. It all paid off, the Huskies won three National Championships in Jessica's years in Connecticut. But it will not come without difficulty. During the championship game (3rd Championship), Moore suffered a torn anterior ligament injury (ACL) in the second half of the game. He remains in the finishing game with 14 points, and nine rebounds despite injuries that will require surgery. In May 2005, Moore earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science.
Basket USA
Moore was named for the U19 Women's United States team who represented the United States at the U19 World Championships 2001, held in Brno, Czech Republic in July 2001. Moore scored 6.4 points per game, and helped the US team to a 6-1 record and medal bronze. He is the third rebounder on the team with an average of 5.3 per game.
WNBA
Moore was voted number 24 by Charlotte Sting in the 2005 WNBA Draft. The team struggled and then made some list changes. He was cut but not without notice from other league teams. Two days later he was picked up by Los Angeles Sparks where he enjoyed the winning team that made it into the WNBA playoffs. In the WNBA season he went to Europe to play basketball. He played in Spain for Universitario de Ferrol, and the following year he played in France for Challes Les Eux.
In 2011, Moore was released by Indiana Fever, but was invited by Connecticut Sun.
