Previous season
The Oregon Ducks 2006 suffered a very disappointing end to last year's season. After starting the year with four wins and no losses, and reaching No. 1. 11 at Poll AP, Duck travels to Berkeley to confront No. 16th rank of Bear. Unfortunately this match ended with an explosion against Duck. The Ducks then went on to win just three of the last eight games, which included a painful 28-30 defeat to the Beaver where the Oregon field goal was late blocked by the beaver. The duck played in a bowl game, representing Pac-10 in the Heroes of the Las Vegas Bowl 2006. The duck ended the season with a 38-8 loss to 20th-ranked Brigham Young Cougars.

Schedule
Dennis Dixon Oregon ran as far as 141 yards, with an 80-yard run that produced a touchdown. Dixon also threw 134 yards and two touchdowns, finishing nine of 15 bait. Houston Anthony Alridge converted 22 bring into 205 yards and one goal. Adridge also captured three operands for 88 yards and touchdowns. 142 yards rushed Dixon was the most by the Oregon quarterback since Tony Graziani was 108 yards against Oregon State in 1995. The score tied on 20 points in the third quarter when Houston Case Keenum attempted to throw a pass to Perry McDaniel in the final zone but was intercepted by Patrick Chung. The duck then went forward 27 to 20 after Dixon threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Brian Paysinger. Forty seconds after Paysinger's touchdown, Dixon threw the other into Jaison Williams, placing Ducks 34 through 20. Houston once again scored twice and Oregon twice as the Ducks beat Houston 48 to 27.
The game is also famous for the battle between Duck mascot and Cougars mascot. Students who fulfill the role of Duck were discontinued shortly thereafter. The battle can be seen on Video on YouTube.
Michigan
This game was Michigan's worst defeat since 1968 when they lost 50 to 14 at Ohio State. Dennis Dixon contributed 368 yards and 4 career-high touchdowns. Three goals were thrown into three different recipients for 85, 61, and 45-yard scoring through Dixon's way to 292 throw yards. Dixon also rushed 76 yards and one touchdown. The duck leads with 25 at half time, and faces little resistance in the second half. According to Oregon coach Mike Bellotti, the game was a "nice win because I think there are some questions about how Michigan will bounce back, and whether we will be competitive." I think our players are taking heart. With this game, Michigan opened the season with two home defeats, the first time since 1959. It also gave them a four-game losing streak, the most in four decades. Wolverines coach Lloyd Carr said: "We have good kids and they are sick.If losing does not make you hurt, you should not be in Michigan."
Fresno State
Oregon's 52-21 defeat of Fresno State was Bellotti's 100th win as coach at the University of Oregon. Dennis Dixon tossed for two goals and ran for the other. The duck ran back Jonathan Stewart ran 165 yards and scored twice, one touchdown being part of an 88-yard run. Dixon said, "The sky is the limit now, the offense is really clicking." Although Dixon did not put up impressive numbers like he did in Michigan the week before, he had a solid performance, finishing 14 for 20 yards for 139 yards and running 59 yards. The Oregon mascot is suspended and watching the game, but not from the sidelines. Quarterback Fresno State Tom Brandstater completed 18-32 bait for 219 yards and one touchdown. The disadvantage is Fresno State's second against a ranking team on the road. The previous week Bulldogs lost 47-45 to Texas A & amp; M in overtime triple time. Fresno State coach Pat Hill said: "[h] ow many times, I have to say it? We are ruled in three phases We are defeated today It is not often the case in Fresno State Today we are defeated by a football team that They brought it to us, the end of the conversation. "

USC
The Ducks defeated Trojans 24 through 17. Oregon defense defender Matthew Harper intercepted the final USC drive, defending Oregon's victory. Harper said, "We knew someone was going to make the drama, and luckily it was me." The Oregon win puts them to chance at the national championship. No. 12 USC (No. 9 AP) disappeared after Jonathan Stewart Oregon rushed 103 yards and two goals while Dennis Dixon completed 16 of 25 passes for 157 yards. Oregon was fifth in the BCS standings, and Dixon became a serious Heisman contender with 76 yards rushing and 157 passing yards.
Arizona State
In a game considered important enough for ESPN College Gameday to be broadcast in Eugene, the Oregon Ducks defeated Arizona State Sun Devils 35-23. Heisman hopes Dennis Dixon to throw for 189 yards and 4 goals and lead the Duck to a win that puts Oregon in the lead for the Pac-10 championship.
After Duck scored on their first possession, a 26-yard bait to WR Jaison Williams, Sun Devils began to field. Demonstrating the same attitude as Dixon, ASU QB Rudy Carpenter leads the Devils to a 2-yard Oregon line before Oregon's defense lives in a "bend but not break" style and holds the ASU to the field goal. That line stop goal will set the tone for the rest of the game as Oregon held Arizona State just 3 points in the first quarter and 13 in the first half.
Trailing 13-21 in the half, Arizona State were able to make field goals on their first possession in the second half, cutting Oregon's lead into 5. However, Duck was able to score the next 14 points of the game, giving the Duck a 35-16 lead with a quarter left to play. Unfortunately about 2 minutes into the fourth quarter, Dennis Dixon was sent off after a strange tackle and spent the rest of the game. Fortunately the wound did not look serious and he was seen jogging on the sidelines soon after.
Arizona State scored one further goal later in the fourth quarter, scoring the final 35-23. In the game that Rudy Carpenter was fired 9 times, it seems only fitting that the last game of the game is a sack as time goes by.
Arizona
The Ducks enters game rank No. 2 in both the AP poll and the BCS standings. The victory in this game, followed by victories against UCLA and Oregon State, will almost certainly result in a place at BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans. The duck started the game hot, with a 39-yard touchdown run by Dennis Dixon and a successful two-point convertible. After an Arizona interception, Duck had the ball back on the 4-yard Arizona line threatening to score again. However, Dixon threw the intercept that was returned 45 yards and was eventually capitalized by the Wildcats as a touchdown, cutting the score to 8-7. The Ducks responded with another solid drive that brought the ball to Arizona 15 and appeared to be scoring again. On September 2 and 7, Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon (a leading Heisman candidate at this point of the season) fell to the ground untouched. Upon examination, it is clear that Dixon turned his injured knee and tore his ACL. It will then be revealed that Dixon has actually tore the ligaments in a game the previous week against Arizona State.
After the injury, Dixon - collected 183 yards on 19 dramas - was replaced by Brady Leaf. Oregon's misery increased: Arizona scored on the return of interception, the other on a kickback return, and Leaf suffered an ankle injury, all before halftime. Oregon tried to rally from a 14-31 half-time deficit, but lost 24-34, ending their National Championship hopes. The following day it was announced that Dixon's injuries would end his season, and any hope from the Heisman Trophy.
UCLA
Oregon State
The 111th Civil War, the Ducks now leads 55-46-10 in the series all the time. This is the first time the home team has not won since 1996, Oregon State's first win at the Autzen Stadium since 1993, and for the first time Oregon State has won two consecutive years since 1973-74.
Sun Bowl
Having lost in the last 3 games of the year, many analysts expect the duck to get a bad result at the Sun Bowl. But the ducks came out strong. Starting his first career, new midfielder Justin Roper completed 17 of 30 passes for 180 yards with 4 goals and without interception. Running back Jonathan Stewart rushed for a career-high and Sun Bowl record 253 yards and a touchdown and was named the Most Valuable Player of the game.
Oregon, despite its 7-point underdog, dominated the game, especially the second half. Holding on to a 18-14 lead on the half, Oregon came out and outscored South Florida 28-0 in the third quarter. Duck wins 56-21. 56 points scored is a Sun Bowl record. 25 yards rushing Jonathan Stewart is a Sun Bowl record. The 35-point winning limit is the second largest of the 2007-2008 bowl season. The ducks finished the season 9-4 with their first win since the 2001 season. They finished the season which was ranked 23rd in the last Poll Associated Press.
