USA Today named his first All-USA high school soccer team in 1982. The newspaper has named a team every year since 1982.
In addition, two team members were named USA Today High School Offensive Offensive Players and Players Throughout the Year, respectively. The newspaper also voted for America's Best Football Coach of the Year .
