Union High School is an American public high school in Vancouver, Washington. School is part of the school district of Cemara Public School. While the campus is located within the appropriate border of Vancouver city, it has a postal code of the Camas region. The campus was completed in July 2007. The head of Higher Union is Brian Grimsted. Union school colors are Black, Silver, and Red. The school mascot is Titan.

About

Union opened in the fall of 2007 with students consisting of only freshmen, second year, and some juniors. The original Union High School was founded in 1910. James Blair was the first headmaster of the Senior High School. This is the fourth high school built at Evergreen School District - Evergreen High School is the first, Mountain View High School is the second, and Heritage High School is the third school. The four high schools share a football stadium, McKenzie Stadium, which is adjacent to Evergreen High School.

Schools and colleges are developed with the concept of utilizing contemporary educational technology. The design collaboration for the school won the 2007 Community Development Award from the Community Development Department.

In June 2010, Newsweek magazine enrolled Union High School on the annual list of "America's Best Schools," which includes 1,600, or about 6 percent, of public high schools. UHS registered 572 nationally and 8 out of 32 high schools listed in Washington state.

Sports

Union football team is one of the most prominent school athletic teams. With a 6-3 record in their first year without a senior, there is high expectation for this team in the future. In 2008, the unbeaten Union Titans lost to Bellevue High School (Washington) in a state championship game 3A. The Titans won 3A GSHL league title in 2008 and 2009. The Titans won 2nd place GSHL title 2A in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Union wrestling team is 5 times champion Clark County, 5 times GSHL league champion, 6 time district champions, and 3 regional time champions. In 2011, Titan's wrestling took the team's title at the prestigious Pacific Beach Championships, and in 2012 and 2014 the Titans took home the country's trophies, each occupying the 4th and 3rd positions. Union individual nationals include Clint Coulter (2010), John "Junior" Godinho (2014) and Alex Barfanger (2014).

Cheer squad also occupies the second position in the state.

Union's Track and Field has seen many achievements in its short history. In its first year, the Union Track Team occupied the second position in the state.

The Union Titans softball team is the league, district and regional champions and then takes third place in the state.

The Union Titans basketball program is one of the best in the state, having won or competed in the state championships almost every year. The 2017 Varsity Boys Team won 2nd place in the state's 4A division.

The Union Titans girls golf team has won 3A and district league titles in 2010. In the 4A classification they took the district in 2011, and the league and title district in 2012.

Campus

Union High School Campus has five buildings built in different locations representing four academies & amp; Student Commons, and large modular units. The five campus buildings are: Leadership and Business (100), Building Engineering and Environmental Science (200), International and Athletic Study Building (300), Performing Arts and Visual Building (400), and Student Union (500). The last building (600) is a multi purpose building that uses programs such as American Sign Language and Dance. Each building except the Student Union contains basic core classes including math classes, general science classes, and English classes. Each building also contains a special class specific to the building.

Each class in all buildings has a set of installed technological resources, including video projectors, document cameras, and voice reinforcement systems for teachers.

Union High School also has a wireless hotspot that covers the entire campus. Students can bring laptops and other Wi-fi devices to schools and use Campus Wi-fi systems, connect to their students' school computer accounts, and access school computer resources, to do schoolwork without checking school computer labs.

Academics

Union follow the learning model of Small Learning Community. Students can choose a thematic focus community, such as performing arts or math and science, which allows students to focus more on areas of interest.

UHS Band

The Union High School Band program is directed by Mark Claassen and Timothy Siess. Since its first year with 120 students, the program has grown to serve more than 200 students at Union High School and offers musical opportunities to participate. The program includes: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, 2 Jazz Ensembles (I & amp; II), Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Music/Wind Ensemble, Football Band, Basketball Band, Marching Band, Pit Orchestra, and choir instrument. Students in this program are active in honorary ensembles such as Portland Youth Philharmonic, All-State and All-Northwest ensembles/orchestras, and more. Serambi and student-run solos compete in the state championships at Central Washington University every year, often winning first, second, or third place in the state. Union Band has also won the award for being one of the highest-rated GPA band programs in the state. The fundamental emphasis of the program continues to be excellence beyond the stage.

Paduan Suara UHS

The Union High School Choir program was directed by Mr. Mikkel Iverson, who was previously director of the choir at Evergreen High School. Under his direction and accompanied by Lori Collier, Union High School won the first State Sanctions Championship he held with Union High School's Select Men's Ensemble in spring 2008. They performed Joseph Martin's "The Awakening," and Bruce Sled "Jing-Ga- Yes "with a standing ovation.

In 2009, Ensemble Putra won the Solo State Contest and Ensemble once again, making them the Junior High School in Washington state to win two consecutive championships in their first two years of existence. They feature "Viva Tutti," the traditional English Glee, "Weep No More" by David Childs, and "Dubinushka (Russian Hammer Song)" by Vijay Singh. Their image is featured on the cover of Country Solo & amp; Ensemble Booklet because of their unique story.

The Chamber Choir, the only mixed chorus at Union High School, was invited to appear at the 2013 American Association of American Directors conference, located in Dallas, Texas. They are one of 30 choirs chosen to perform and the only middle school choir of a total of four are invited to perform at an evening concert at Meyerson Symphony Center and Winspear Opera House. The sets they sang for second night stand ovations included Vijay Singh's "Surrexit Pastor Bonus", Stanford E. Scriven "Christ the Appletree", J. Michael Saunders' "La Otra", Ethan Sperry's "Albela Sajan", an Indian sport, and Collection of John Muehleisen from "Aversion to Wortots" and "RAH!"
