NIKEiD is a service provided by Nike that allows customers to customize clothing purchased from Nike. Customers become designers when they change and add a personal look and feel to the selected item. The service is accessible both online from their homepage and in physical branches (called NIKEiD Studio s) located in parts of Canada, France, UK, Mainland Europe, China and the United States. In total, NIKEiD has 102 studios where customers can access custom design services.
This service was launched in early 2012 and can only be accessed through their website. It gives customers the ability to choose from a variety of different materials and colors to develop their own style of tennis shoes. This initial launch allows customers to customize Nike Air Force One shoes. It delivers a total of 31 different customizable parts including base, overlay, accents, layers, stitches, outsole, strap and deubrà © à ©. In total this shoe gives a choice of 82 different materials and types of options. Since then, the service has expanded from small web-based services to a large number of new software stores and applications to give customers a greater variety of personalization and uniqueness in Nike shoes and clothing.

NIKEiD mainly focuses on footwear, providing a selection of shoes that can then be personalized by the customer. Customers can choose which areas of shoes are customized, change colors and fabrics as they see fit. This customization allows for a large number of different designs to be created. And, if customers do not want to design the shoes themselves, they can choose from a variety of pre-made designs or buy designs made by other customers.
Since NIKEiD has grown, they have changed from just personalized shoes to other sporting goods. Currently only available on their website, with NIKEiD studios that focus on footwear.

NIKEiD shoes offer customizations listed in these sub-categories including: Football, Baseball, Running, Rugby, Basketball, Athletic Training, Skateboarding, and Nike Sportswear. NIKEiD keeps updating the shoe collection they offer for customization. The best Nike franchises are also represented including Air Max, Air Force 1, Nike Free, Nike LunarGlid Nike Dunk. NIKEiD has also recently started offering signature styles from athletes such as Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

The company's starting point is an online store that has changed over the years since its initial launch in 1999. In 2005 R/GA was given the task of redesigning the website to give it a "premium ecommerce experience". The original HTML site was completely replaced by a new Flash-based website that claimed to provide a more user-friendly and stylish look. The ability to save designs using myLocker accounts, on the NIKEiD website, has sparked many bloggers and designers to showcase their designs.
In Store
Studio NIKEiD is intended to give customers a greater personal experience. Studios have professionally trained designers inside for customer use. Inside the studio there are more colors, materials, and shoes to choose from.
iPhone app
On October 14, 2012, NIKEiD Applications for iPhone and iPod Touch are released in the iTunes App Store. This app is free to download and allows users to search for products made by the NIKEiD community and buy items from online stores. The Studio Finder ID allows users to find out where NIKEiD Studio is located, and how to book an appointment with a design consultant. Users can also save their designs to their myLocker accounts. This app has been discontinued and replaced with Mobile Builder designed to allow full customization of any modern mobile device running iOS or Android operating system.
NIKI PHOTOiD
By taking colorful pictures with their mobile phones, consumers can send images to Nike where the newly designed software will then analyze images for the two main colors and then go about designing shoes based on it. Consumers will then receive a reply with a picture of the shoes they want. From this stage they can save pictures, send them to others or even buy new designs.
NIKEiD Events
Campaign
NIKEiD launched a billboard campaign that coincided with the relaunch of the NIKEiD website. Marks Reuters in Times Square and offers people with an option to use their phones to match a pair of shoes. Once the user adjusts a pair of shoes, they receive the text with a shoe wallpaper and are then given the option to purchase their customized shoes.
Celebrity Design
NIKEiD has invited celebrities like Amani Toomer and DJ Clark Kent to go to NIKEiD's workshop, located at 21 Mercer Street, New York and design their own shoes.
Nike Air Troupe Design Battle
When Nike launched a new shoe specially designed for hip hop dancers. This campaign is designed to promote NIKEiD and new shoes. It allows users to customize their own Nike Air Troupe shoes and then sends their designs into competition against other designers. The design will go through the voting round until the best design is selected, and the winner can win various prizes. Competition ended on April 16, 2009.
Similar Services
Other clothing brands offer bespoke clothes for customers as well. Vans for example offer a similar shoe experience to customers. Recently added book bags, and hats and shoes. Adidas offers a bespoke service called mi adidas that allows special shoe features for customers. Reebok also offers a service called Reebok you. Converse, a Nike company, offers Converse Create services, which run on customized versions of NIKEiD software. Franklin Sports offers custom batting gloves.
