Ken Yasuda (also known as Arnold Schwarzenegger Japan) (born May 2, 1981 in Kyoto, Japan) is a professional Japanese bodybuilder. He was once the head of mixed martial arts for Tokyo Sabers of the International Fight League.

Biography

Yasuda was born in the Japanese city of Kyoto to a family that offers 46 generations of samurai warriors. When Yasuda's children dream of becoming pro baseball players, and designed as pitchers by the premier league team after high school. Instead, Yasuda chose to play baseball at the University of Southern California, where he developed a love of heavy lifting and physical conditioning from fellow USC alumnus Mark McGwire. The injury to his oppressive arm ultimately forced Yasuda to leave his dream to swing in the major leagues. Yasuda was later involved in bodybuilding. He lives in Los Angeles, California.

Baseball

Since he grew up in Japan, Yasuda is an avid baseball player. Although designed by a major league team, he chose to earn a bachelor's degree at the University of Southern California and play baseball there. Always considered too short to waltz in the US, Yasuda began to train the burden to increase his strength. It was at this point that Yasuda met baseball player Mark McGwire and started training with him. While at USC, Yasuda suffered a ligament injury in his arm and could no longer play.

Bodybuilding

After his arm injury, Yasuda focuses full time on his new passion, bodybuilding. He soon became the first Japanese to become a Musclemania Professional Bodybuilder after taking Mr. Japan Title in the competition Mr. Japan first. He has always been a finalist in peak bodybuilding competitions such as Excalibur and the Superbody World Championships, Mr. World Championships and Musclemania Professional World Championships. When competing he has defeated Mr. Universe, Mr. USA, and Mr. France Yasuda is known for his disproportionate and symmetrical appearance and perfect condition with a sweet mask.

Acting

Yasuda also appeared in several US and Japanese films, including Cupid's Mistake (2001) and Just Another Romantic Wrestling Comedy (2006). In addition to appearing on TV and movies, he has starred in many training videos. Some of them are The Way of Samurai Series, The Punishment Workout with Tito Ortiz, The Ultimate Power Training with Don Frye, and MMA training video series. Two Yasuda documentaries "The Last Samurai Standing (2003)" and "Ken Yasuda (at the Procatch Gates of Samurai Channel) (2000)".

MMA

Yasuda is the captain of International Fight Leagues Tokyo Sabers. He trained flashy and made a fight strategy, which led to his team unbeaten in the 2007 season. He also focused on strength training and conditioning to help prevent injuries and maximize physical performance. Besides Tokyo Sabers, he trained the legends of MMA Don Frye and Kazuyuki Fujita. He has been a coach for Team Inoki and the New Japan Pro-wrestling Federation: he has trained most of the New Japan Pro wrestlers including Shinsuke Nakamura, Yoshi Tatsu, Keiji Muto, etc. He is now training each of the famous fighters and up and coming as well as fighters other professional athletes including Ichiro Suzuki (MLB) (previous trainees). He has been called a great coach, strategist, and mentor by many of MMA's major competitors in the world.

Wrestling

Yasuda makes an appearance as guest ambassador for the match Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tetsuya Naito in New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 11 at Tokyo Dome on 4 January 2017.
