The Champion Ballroom Academy (founded April 1990) is a dance studio in San Diego, California. The studio's main specialties are social partner dance, competitive ballroom dance (aka Dancesport) and Latin-based aerobic dance program called Core Rhythms Ã, à © .
The studio is also known as the host of weekly social dance that is open to the public, along with other monthly events organized by local dance and social organization.
Since the depiction of founder Mary Murphy as judge of the Fox TV series So You Think You Can Dance, the studio has expanded its repertoire to include other dance style guest instructors, including Hip Hop, Flamenco, and contemporary dancing.
The studio also hosts at least two showrooms per year, which include assessed dance contests, professional exhibitions, and special ballroom and other dance performance shows.
