The 19th season of The Bachelor premiered on January 5, 2015. This season featured 33-year-old Chris Soules, a farmer from Arlington, Iowa. Soules placed third on season 10 of The Bachelorette featuring Andi Dorfman. The season concluded on March 9, 2015 in which 29-year-old fertility nurse Whitney Bischoff was named the winner and becoming Soules' fiancée, they ended their relationship in May 28, 2015.

Filming and development
Casting and contestants
Casting began during the eighteenth season of The Bachelor. Soules and Arie Luyendyk Jr. were the candidates for the next bachelor. On August 26, 2014, Soules was chosen as a fan favorite and was first announced on Good Morning America. Luyendyk later became the star in the twenty-second season.
One of the season's contestants, Carly, is the sister of The Bachelorette Season 9 contestant Zak Waddell.
Production
Unlike previous seasons, this season premiered with a three-hour live episode. Its locales included San Francisco, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Deadwood, South Dakota, Des Moines, Iowa, and the Indonesian island of Bali. Jimmy Kimmel Live! host Jimmy Kimmel took over for one episode in week three and there was a performance from Big & Rich in week six.

Dancing with the Stars
Immediately after this season, Soules appeared on the twentieth season of Dancing with the Stars, partnering with Witney Carson. They finished in 5th place.
The Bachelorette
Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe were both selected to be the lead on the eleventh season of The Bachelorette -- however only one would survive the first night. In the end the men voted for Bristowe to be the Bachelorette.
The Bachelor
Amber James returned on the twentieth season with Becca Tilley as a part of the cast for that season, James finished in 12th/13th and Tilley finished in 5th.
Bachelor in Paradise
Season 2
Ashley Salter agreed to be part of the second season of Bachelor in Paradise during The Women Tell All. Along with Salter, Ashley Iaconetti, Carly Waddell, Jade Roper, Jillian Anderson, Juelia Kinney, Megan Bell, Amber James, Samantha Steffen and Mackenzie Deonigi all returned in the second season of Bachelor in Paradise. Iaconetti's sister Lauren also joined the cast. Anderson was the first one eliminated in week 1, while Bell was eliminated in week 3. Kinney, Iaconetti, and Deonigi all quit during week 5. Salter and James were eliminated in week 5 and Waddell quit in week 6. Roper ended the season engaged to Bachelor Nation alumnus Tanner Tolbert and Steffen left Paradise in a relationship with Nick Peterson.
Season 3
Waddell and Iaconetti were chosen to compete in the third season of Bachelor in Paradise, making this their third Bachelor Nation appearance. Iaconetti left Paradise in week 6. Waddell ended the season engaged to Bachelor Nation alumnus, Evan Bass.
The Bachelor Winter Games
Iaconetti appeared on her fourth Bachelor Nation appearance in The Bachelor Winter Games as Team USA. She co-won the season alongside Canadian Bachelor alum, Kevin Wendt.
