Career

From 2010, she became increasingly interested in singing. After taking singing lessons for a few months, in 2013 she launched her singing career with her album Lost In Romance. She released her 2014 sophomore album, Potions (From the 50s), as an original analog tape album (2 inch 24 track) which was listed on the 2015-2016 Grammy award ballot in four categories.

Stanley has recorded at Capitol Recording Studios, Conway and United Recording studios in Hollywood CA and Avatar Recording Studio in New York City. She has been recognized for her vinyl recordings, hybrid stereo CDs, and music downloads.

Stanley's singing career has given her international status with three worldwide releases between November 2013 and January 2016 in the jazz vocal genre space. Her debut recording, the 2013 release entitled Lost in Romance, was an overnight international success and she achieved recognition and critical acclaim. Her first two albums became #1 Jazz Vocal albums on CD Baby With the release of her second album, Potions (From the 50s), Stanley tracked popular songs of the 1950s. In October 2015 she released her third album, Interludes in Tokyo, Japan and launched a USA radio campaign in January 2016 for this album. Engineers Al Schmitt and Bernie Grundman are used for recording, mixing and mastering most of her projects.

On January 15, 2016, a party was held at the La Cicada Club in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of her album Interludes. Annette Warren, at 93, was one of those who performed at the show. Together with her husband, the pianist Paul Smith, Warren had encouraged Stanley to give up competitive ballroom-DanceSport as a USA amateur champion four years earlier in order to become a jazz singer.

In December 2016, Lyn Stanley received The Global Music Silver (Outstanding Achievement) Award for Female Vocal and Album for her Interludes project [1]. She was also nominated by Hollywood Media In Music July 2016 Awards for her song on the Interludes album entitled "Whole Lotta Love" in the jazz category [2]. In December 2016 Lyn Stanley announced her next project entitled The Moonlight Sessions, Volume One and The Moonlight Sessions, Volume Two to be released in 2017.

In April 2017 a three part story about Lyn Stanley's sound recording career and her 2017 releases of The Moonlight Sessions, Volumes One and Two was released by Part Time Audiophile's writer John Stancavage. Stanley announced the release date of May 30, 2017 for The Moonlight Sessions, Volume One in two formats--double vinyl 45RPM--Special Limited Edition using the One Step pressing process. This vinyl pressing process was popular in the 1950s before mass production of vinyl records was needed to meet demand. The One Step vinyl album uses the original lacquer to create the Father or Master stamper. Typically most vinyl records are made with the Three Step process whereby Father, Mother and Stampers are all created from one lacquer, hence three steps from the original. The One step process is one step from the original lacquer and therefore closer to the master tape/tracks. The Moonlight Sessions, Volumes One and Two were recorded in February 2017 by Al Schmitt and Steve Genewick. Mixing Engineer was Michael Bishop of Five/Four Productions and the album was mastered by Bernie Grundman of Bernie Grundman Mastering. The musicians on this project include pianists Mike Garson, Christian Jacob and Tamir Hendelman; bassist Chuck Berghofer; guitar by John Chiodini; drummers include Joe LaBarbera, Bernie Dresel and Ray Brinker. Soloists include: Hendrik Meurkens, Rickey Woodard, Chuck Findley, Corky Hale and Carol Robins. All vocals are by Lyn Stanley.
